Apcalis Oral Jelly has a different absorption rate in people depending on their physical health. So, the time taken for Apcalis Oral Jelly to take effect may differ.

In normal circumstances though, it starts to take effect when taken 15 minutes prior to commencing sexual activity.

The effects of Apcalis Oral Jelly may last for up to 4 hours.

The maximum permitted dosage is one dose of the jelly in a 24 hour period. Do not exceed it.

Dosage Missed? Follow the Instructions

Apcalis Oral Jelly is only used prior to making love. It is not a medication that should be used regularly or every day. So, the chances of you missing a dose are remote.

The right way to store Apcalis Oral Jelly

Medications must be protected from excessive heat, direct exposure to sunlight and moisture. So, store it in a cool and dark place at room temperature (59 and 86 degrees F). Check the label to see if brief storage at temperatures lower than that is permitted.

Ensure that it is out of reach of pets and kids.

Information on Drug Overdose

You must contact a poison control center immediately if you suspect a drug overdose.

Safety Information Warning Precautions

We recommend that you meet your health care provider before starting treatment and discuss your past and current medical history to avoid any complications later on.

Mention any allergies that you have (food items and medicine), all the medicines you are using currently, herbal pills, dietary supplements and multivitamins.

Do not use Apcalis Oral Jelly if:

If you have a history of heart problems (arrhythmic disorders, heart attack or stroke) and sexual activity is restricted to you, then you must avoid using Apcalis Oral Jelly.

Symptoms like chest, shoulder, neck, or jaw pain; numbness of an arm or leg; severe dizziness, headache, nausea, stomach pain, or vomiting; fainting; or vision changes, while indulging in sexual activity or any other vigorous exercise may be signs of a heart attack. Stop whatever you are doing and seek emergency medical care.

Apcalis Oral Jelly must also be avoided if one or more of the following conditions apply to you:

• You have Liver disease
• You have Kidney disease (or if you are on dialysis)
• You have a blood cell disorder such as sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia
• You have a bleeding disorder such as hemophilia
• You have a stomach ulcer; retinitis pigmentosa (an inherited condition of the eye), a physical deformity of the penis (such as Peyronie's disease)

Drinking Habits & Apcalis Oral Jelly

Alcohol is a muscle relaxant. It might interfere with the normal functioning of the medication and hence, using alcoholic beverages are not recommended while using Apcalis Oral Jelly.

Giddiness, drowsiness or blurred vision is seen in some patients when they start to use Apcalis Oral Jelly. This usually stops as the body adjusts to the medication.

Any tasks that require an alert mind should be avoided. This includes driving, using heavy machinery etc.

Sit or lie down at the first sign of giddiness or drowsiness.

Possible drug interactions

Apcalis Oral Jelly can cause certain adverse reactions if it is combined with some medications.

These medications include:

Nitrates in any form (Ointments, patches, pills). This includes any and all medications containing nitrates including Nitrostat, Nitrolingual, Nitro-Dur, Nitro-Bid, Minitran, Deponit, Transderm-Nitro, Dilatrate-SR, Isordil, Sorbitrate, sosorbide mononitrate (Imdur, ISMO, Monoket).
Recreational pills called poppers.
Bosentan (Tracleer);
A blood thinner such as warfarin (Coumadin);
Cimetidine (Tagamet, Tagamet HB);
An antibiotic such as erythromycin (E-Mycin, Eryc, Ery-Tab) or clarithromycin (Biaxin);
Doxazosin (Cardura), prazosin (Minipress), Terazosin (Hytrin);
HIV medicines such as amprenavir (Agenerase), tipranavir (Aptivus), darunavir (Prezista), efavirenz (Sustiva), nevirapine (Viramune), indinavir (Crixivan), saquinavir (Invirase, Fortovase), lopinavirritonavir (Kaletra), fosamprenavir (Lexiva), ritonavir (Norvir), atazanavir (Reyataz), or nelfinavir (Viracept);
An antifungal medication such as itraconazole (Sporanox) or ketoconazole (Nizoral);
Carbamazepine (Tegretol), phenobarbital (Luminal), or phenytoin (Dilantin); or
Rifampin (Rifadin, Rimactane) or rifabutin (Mycobutin).

Important Information

An erection that does not subside even after completing intercourse and that may be triggered even without sexual arousal may occur. This may last for more than 6 hours. It is called Priapism and should not be ignored as it causes permanent damage to the penile muscles. It can cause permanent impotence.

Do not use similar ED medications while using Apcalis Oral Jelly.

Patients over the age of 65 should maintain caution while using Apcalis Oral Jelly.

Apcalis Oral Jelly is not for use by women or children.

Safe sex techniques

Apcalis Oral Jelly does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases like HIV. Always follow safe sex techniques.

Important Information for Pregnant Women

Apcalis Oral Jelly may harm an unborn fetus. So you should seek advice from your doctor about the potential risk it poses to the fetus.

The medication may also be excreted via the breast milk. So, speak to your doctor about the risk to your baby.
