Mobic is a Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory drug that is prescribed to help treat the pain and inflammation associated with conditions like osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

However, your doctor may also prescribe Mobic for other conditions if found appropriate.

How to use Mobic

The ideal way to use Mobic is to follow the instructions of your doctor. An alternative way is to check the medicine label for dosage instructions.

Mobic should be taken with a meal with a full glass of water.

Preferably, Mobic should be taken at the same time each day to help maintain a regular routine for taking it.

You must not stop taking Mobic without consulting your doctor even if you attain relief after a short while post starting treatment.

Missed Dose

It is important that you maintain a strict schedule for taking Mobic to ensure that you do not miss any doses. But if you do, then you may take it as soon as you remember provided that you space out the next dosage accordingly.

On the other hand, if it is almost time for the next dose, then omit this dose and continue with your normal dosage schedule.

Never consume two doses to compensate for a missed dosage.


Store Mobic between 59 to 77 degrees F (15 and 25 Degrees), at room temperature. Ensure that you protect it from direct exposure to heat/moisture/light and from the reach of children and pets.

Avoid storing Mobic in the bathroom.


A Mobic overdose may have certain adverse symptoms like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain and bleeding and a coma or heart attack in extreme cases, which may require immediate medical attention. So please contact your doctor immediately if you suspect that the patient has overdosed on Mobic.

Consult your doctor before using Mobic if you have conditions like, if you have any kind of allergies to food items, medicines or other substances, if you are using some kind of herbal preparation, dietary supplement, prescription or non prescription drug.

Consult your doctor if you are allergic to aspirin, have asthma or experience difficulty breathing while you are using Mobic.

Do not use Mobic if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in it (read medicine label if unsure), you have had a severe allergic reaction (eg, severe rash, hives, trouble breathing, growths in the nose, dizziness) to aspirin or a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) (eg, ibuprofen, celecoxib); you have recently had or will be having bypass heart surgery; you have a peptic ulcer; you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy.

You must avoid taking alcoholic beverages while using Mobic as it can increase the chances of becoming drowsy, faint or dizzy. Potentially hazardous tasks like driving, handling heavy machinery should also be avoided.

Mobic should not be combined with other NSAID drugs that include aspirin, ibuprofen etc.

If you are pregnant or have plans for a pregnancy, then consult your doctor before using Mobic as Mobic may harm your fetus.

Mobic should not be used during the last three months of pregnancy.

If you are breast feeding then please maintain caution as it is unknown whether Mobic is passed into the breast milk. So please consult your doctor prior to using it.

You may be required to undergo certain lab tests including kidney function, complete blood cell counts, and blood pressure while taking Mobic. These tests are prescribed to monitor the progress as well as the severity of side effects. Please do not miss any lab appointments.

Please maintain caution while using Mobic in children below 2 years of age as the safety as well as effectiveness of Mobic in these patients are yet to be ascertained.

Mobic should be used with caution in children as they are more sensitive to its side effects like diarrhea, fever, headache, stomach pain, and vomiting.
